About the Junior Lawyers Division
The Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) was set up in 2008 following the merger of the Trainee Solicitors Group and the Young Solicitors Group to provide Junior Lawyers with support, advice, information and networking opportunities. The JLD also represent young lawyers’ views through lobbying and campaigns both internationally and here in the UK.
The York JLD is run for the benefit of all junior lawyers in and around the York area, and we welcome anyone from York and the surrounding areas including Wetherby, Harrogate, Pocklington and Malton. Our events can range from external company presentations to summer balls and boat cruises. Each event is an excellent opportunity for our members to network, express opinions and seek advice from other professionals.
We represent paralegals, trainee solicitors and qualified solicitors with up to 5 years PQE. If you fall into any of these categories, keep up to date with all the events taking place in York by joining our mailing list.
To join, simply email us at enquiries@yorkJLD.co.uk or contact any of the Committee Members.
Membership of the York JLD is free and open to paralegals, trainee solicitors and qualified solicitors with up to 5 years PQE. We currently have over 100 members but we are always looking for more!
If you wish to join the York JLD please fill out the application form below. You may also use this form for any membership queries you may have.

The Society’s purposes include providing practical support for its members, a comprehensive, good quality, low cost CPD programme, social events, and a forum within which views can be aired.
With close links to the York JLD, we would like to highlight these benefits of membership and encourage trainee and newly qualified solicitors to join.
Annual Trainee Membership is available at just £10.00, with full membership costing £55.00pa for those practising outside of York, and £60.00pa for city members.
Please take the time to browse our website at www.yorkshirelawsociety.org.uk for a more comprehensive look at what the Society does and how it could benefit you. We are also active on Twitter (@YorksLawSociety) and LinkedIn (Yorkshire Law Society Group)
